Yan Carlos Artime Professional Pianist | Violinist | Composer | Arranger Yan Carlos Artime was born on February 26, 1971, in Havana, Cuba, into an artistic family, the son of an architect and a pianist. He began his violin studies at the age of eight at the Manuel Saumell Conservatory while also training as a pianist, developing a strong discipline and a deep musical foundation from an early age. After eleven years of formal training, he graduated as both a violinist and pianist from the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory, mastering classical and popular music with a special emphasis on jazz. In 1991, he earned a position as a violinist with the Matanzas Symphony Orchestra while also working professionally as a pianist and violinist in different musical formats. During the 1990s, he performed with and founded several jazz and contemporary Cuban music groups, recording albums and touring internationally throughout Europe, including performances at important festivals. In 1998, Yan Carlos moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he expanded his career as a pianist, composer, and arranger, participating in multiple recording productions and jazz festivals across the Americas and the Caribbean. Throughout the 2000s, he continued to establish himself as a respected musical creator, collaborating on his own projects as well as with other artists, and performing on stages in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. In 2015, he relocated to Miami, where he remains active as a pianist, producer, and arranger, collaborating with recognized artists in contemporary Cuban and Latin music. His musical profile combines classical training, jazz language, Cuban roots, and professional experience as a performer, composer, arranger, and educator.
